GORGEOUS 29" LONG FACE JUMEAU
She is really outstanding.  I have seen many Long Face Jumeaus in my 25 year career in the antiques business.  Many of them are not beautiful.  This one is truly gorgeous.  She has beautiful, deep blue paperweight eyes.  They are huge! Above her eyes is a beautiful pinky lavender blush. Her bisque is creamy and pale, free from hairlines, cheek rubs, black pitting or repairs. Her ears are applied. She is incised "14". She has her original cork pate and her wig is a replacement made from lamb skin (This type of wig is typically found on early Jumeau dolls including Long Faces).
Her body is original and the early, chunky, straight wrist Jumeau body that is also typically found on these early dolls .  It is stamped with the Jumeau factory stamp. It is in good condition with only minor surface imperfections that one would expect from a doll that is approximately 130 years old. On her head there are a few wig pulls, otherwise, it is gorgeous, early, pale bisque.
She wears a lovely lace, ribbon trimmed, French bonnet.  Her dress is a fine  wool chalis in a wheat color with fine, blue embroidery.  It is from the late 19thc. Old shoes and socks complete the outfit of this lovely 19thc. bebe.
The ultimate Jumeau doll for your collection.
Long layaway offered for your convenience.  $24,000.

HAPPY SFBJ 236 CHARACTER GIRL

Purchased at an auction in Paris, France, this adorable SFBJ 236 has her original clothing and hand embroidered provincial bonnet.  This happy child has blue sleep eyes with lovely original lashes.  Her mouth is open/close and there are two upper teeth. She has lovely coloring...rather pale with rosy cheeks.  She is incised "SFBJ 236 Paris".  She has her original pate and human hair wig.  Her body is a French bebé body made of wood and composition.

Her clothing has many layers.  There are drawers, petticoat, chemise, inner dress that matches the outer dress, outer dress and a large lace collar. Her shoes are french and they have their original laces.

In generally excellent condition, her pretty head does have a faint, faint hairline that is under the wig.....it is barely visible even when the wig is off (see photo).  The body is in great condition (I will restring the arms for you).  The "as found" clothing has not been washed and could use a bath.  There are a few beads missing from the bonnet.

Height:  20 1/2"

A great French character doll at a great price for your collection.  $895.00   SOLD
