EXTRAORDINARY HEELED BOOTS
For a special fashion doll.  They're made from a supple black leather.  Toe bows are rather elaborate and  made from a black silk ribbon with ecru banding.  There is some delicate ecru top stitching.   Narrow black and white herringbone design cotton laces are very decorative, perhaps even "racy" .  The soles are leather and the stacked, high heel is made from wood or another hard material.  The length is approximately 2 3/4" and the width 3/4". They are in excellent condition, French, and made during the 1870-80 period.   Click on photo to see enlarged view of these great shoes.  Side viewBottoms. Even if you do not have a doll that fits these shoes, they are a wonderful accessory to put on view in your doll case. $450.
EARLY 1860'S FLAT SHOES FOR A ROHMER OR HURET  FRENCH FASHION DOLL
Are you a student of fashion styles and periods ?  If so, you will know that before fashion dolls (and people) wore heeled boots in the 1870's, the style in the 1860's was for flat shoes without heels.  This is the period of the Rohmer and Huret fashion dolls.  This pair of shoes is a slipper style made with care from black leather and then trimmed with a blue fabric. The soles are  brown leather and stamped in black "10".  They are 2 7/8" long and approximately 1" wide. In excellent condition, they are the only pair I have ever found when antique shopping in France.  Click photo to enlarge it. Another view. Bottoms.   $350.
