FRENCH WAX CRECHE FIGURE

Found in France, this well modeled wax creche figure was probably part of a set from the late 19th or early 20th c. He has a nicely textured beard and hair and a pleasing overall patina. His hands are also wax, one clutching, the other open .The clothing is sewn on and appears original. Body is made from an old cardboard cylinder. Height of figure is 8".

A great addition to your Christmas collection. (I was tempted to keep him and use him on my Christmas tree...... my version of the Metropolitan Museum of Art tree of Neapolitan angel figures!).
